We start our Marrakech to Fes desert tour 4 days by an early departure from the iconic city of Marrakech at 07:30 a.m. Your driver/guide will pick you up from your chosen address in Marrakech.

The drive takes you through the High Atlas Mountains as we navigate the Tizi Ntichka Pass (2260 m), the breathtaking vistas, and the charming Amazigh villages. 

Our first stop is the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its appearances in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. 

After an authentic Moroccan lunch, you’ll travel through Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, and continue past the Skoura Oasis and the fragrant Valley of the Roses.

By evening, we will reach our hotel/Riad near the Dades Canyons.

Our day two in the 4-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour begins with a drive to the valley of Tinghir, a hidden gem in Morocco. Walk through lush palm groves and experience the Todgha Canyons, with their towering limestone cliffs reaching up to 400 meters.

The journey continues with a stop at Rissani, the birthplace of Morocco’s ruling dynasty. Here, the traditional dates market provides a sneak peek into local culture with vendors offering sweet treats and handcrafted goods.

Finally, we reach Merzouga, better known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert, Merzouga is famous for the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll leave the car and go on a camel trek across the dunes while enjoying the breathtaking view of the sunset.

Arrive in the luxury desert camp where you will experience a delightful dinner of Morocco’s world-class cuisine before culminating the day with a relaxing sleep in your ensuite tent.

After a healthy breakfast, you’ll start your desert day tour with a visit to a palm oasis near Merzouga, where you’ll learn about ancient aqueducts that sustain life in the desert. Your guide will share the history and significance of this ingenious irrigation system.

Next, head to Khamlia Village for a captivating Gnawa music session. Then, visit a local mine to see traditional mineral extraction methods.

Conclude your day with a visit to a nomad family to learn about their way of life. Spend the night in a comfortable Riad at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

The final day starts with a nice drive through the lush Ziz Valley, known for its date palms and ancient Kasbahs.

You will then continue to Midelt in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where the cooler climate offers a refreshing contrast to the desert heat.

The highlight of the day is a stop in Azrou, where you will visit the cedar forests, home to friendly Barbary apes. We arrive in Fes by late afternoon.
